Fishing With the kids
Took the kids fishing, today. What a perfect day. 82 degrees, cloudy and a bit overcast with a threat of rain. Every time I got a little warm enough to think of the heat, a breeze would sweep through the grass and cool me off. It was Just a lovely perfect day to fish with your kids for the first time.
We went to help rid my friend John Schnepel of an over abundance of catfish in the ponds on his property. He wasn't home and I apparently went to the wrong one. On the way in from the big one, I saw the feeding box he mentioned at a smaller pond in closer. That one is said to have HUGE cats in it. The ones we got were all pretty small. But the first fish Aaron caught ran about 4 lbs! His first fish and he landed it himself while I manned the Camera. And that before I could even get Rebecca's line baited. Then a few minutes later, it was Rebecca's Turn.
Aaron has a little more concentration where fishing is concerned. He landed Six fish to Rebecca's three and I wrapped up the day by catching two myself. The rest of my day was spent keeping the kids from killing each other with the hooks, baiting their lines and taking the fish off the hooks. Good thing I remembered what it was like fishing with Sean when he was that age, I didn't even take a pole for myself...
