GPS / Sounder
The good folks at NAPA, pointed me toward a fella named Bill Dykes as a good Outboard mechanic. I had messed with and messed with and messed with the outboard and despite having it running twice, could not seem to keep it running. Bill seemed almost excited at the chance to work on an oldie but a goodie like my 1969 Johnson...So, I passed it off to Bill.
It turned out that Not only had I applied 12 volts to the coils, so had someone who had adjusted the wiring inside the cowling. I had found and fixed my mistake, but didn't realized that one coil was shot again after I got it running. So, Bill tracked it down and got it running and it sounds great. Can't wait to get her out on the water.
After installing the gps/depth sounder, I am now ready for a test run. Awaiting only a nice warm day when no one is working so I can get crew. (I don't want to go out in water this cold, without someone along.) Plus, I'll need help changing some equipment on the trailer while the boat is off the trailer. So, as long as I had the camera out, Aaron had to play a bit...
