My name is Ben Baker, my wife is Susan.
2 years ago we bought "Glory"(her name was "Challenge" when we bought her but as I am an old sentimentalist at heart and superstitious as hell we changed it back to her christened name.). Glory is a 1967 Bristol yawl, since bobtailed. she is full keel and has lived a much storied life. apparently she was built for or raced by/with the NYYC. We have had several people tell us that she won several Bermuda Cups. Also maybe the Marion/Bermuda race..?
Fast forward.... She was sunk in hurricane Andrew. a man bought her, fell in love with her, spent a fair amount to resurrect her and lost her in a messy divorce. next she was housing for the divorced father in law. We bought her 2 years ago and have done A LOT OF WORK ON HER. ;) I was raised by a wooden boat builder/restorer in NE and have every intention of returning her to as close as possible to as-built. If you have any ideas on how I can get her original hull number or any other info I would appreciate it.
Thanks for the great site, and thanks to Nottoway for the color scheme.
