Memorial Day Weekend was kind of tough on the boats. Two days, one night on the water and I ended up with six projects that took two weeks to complete, with some not done, yet.
The good news is, most are done and we got out, today and probably will get out tomorrow, too.
One project was relatively simple, replace the Bow Eye on the runabout, which gave way to 20,000 lbs of mass pulling it with a piling as a fulcrum... But, as long as I had to fix that, I fixed the trailer up with bunks instead of rollers. The rollers were scarring the hull.
And then, there was the crack in the back deck. Had to fix that up.
One of the things that broke Memorial Day weekend was the grill. 12 yrs old and the burner was not made of Stainless, it just gave up the ghost. The good news is, I got a better one for less money than I spent 12 yrs ago. How often does that happen?
So, got five of the six knocked off. Still have idling problems, but hopefully better gas will work that out, too. If not, it will be another trip to Bill Dikes for engine surgery.
P.S. The idling still hasn't worked itself out. A $200 trip to the engine doctor didn't work it out. Gotta make another trip to have her looked at... sigh.
