Climbing the Mast

2010.09.11

So, my roller furling is not working. I went to the top of the mast to take pics to see if Rob could diagnose for me. Unfortunately, I couldn't get close enough to look down into the foil and take a good pic of the foil and what was up inside the foil. But, got some pics, so here they are.

Rebecca had Terry's camera and took some shots with it while I was up there.

Greg from Atlantic Spars and Rigging came today to fix my roller furling and did a rigging survey. The verdict: One shroud with a cracked swage. Overall, the rig is in decent shape, but aging. Needs to be replaced. Lifelines need to be replaced, too.
