Woodworking Projects

In High School, I had taken wood shop, metal shop, mechanics and had done the worst in woods. Though, it was working with wood I had enjoyed the most. Over the last 20 yrs, that experience was reinforced every time I tried to make something. Of course, it was always done working with a drill and a saber saw.

A couple of years ago, I discovered that my Great Great Grandfather Johann who brought the Fuhrmann name to this country, had been a Master Cabinetmaker. So, I decided to pursue it a little bit and spent some money on a few basic wood shop tools. After a couple of false starts, things started to come together and over the last couple of years, I've built some decent pieces. I'm still far from being a master cabinet maker, but I'm having fun.

Now with our new/old home, I'm really looking forward to pursuing my new hobby in a "serious" shop. Measuring in at about 1,200 sq feet, we're going to have some fun, now! So, while I rehab the shop, here's some pics of finished projects.

2008 was dominated by the Glasspar Restoration project, which is still underway in early May, 2009, though finally nearing completion.
